E-commerce giant Flipkart has launched Unified Payment Interface (UPI) service in India. UPI service has been introduced in the app in collaboration with Axis Bank. After opening the Flipkart app, transactions can now be done using the UPI scanner that appears first.
The Flipkart UPI service will initially be available only for Android users. Coming soon to IOS. This service can be used for both online and offline payments. Also, it can be used for money transfers, recharges and bill payments. Flipkart UPI is competing with giants like GooglePay and PhonePay.
Amazon has already introduced UPI service. Many people are using the service called Amazon Pay. Meanwhile, PhonePay, the UPI app with billions of users in India, is currently under Flipkart.
It is estimated that Flipkart has 50 crore registered users and more than 14 lakh sellers. The company reckons that this userbase will benefit the newly launched UPI service.
