Six of the new charging stations are in the cities of Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Gurugram and Bengaluru. Hyundai aims to establish five other stations on major highways namely Delhi-Chandigarh, Delhi-Jaipur, Hyderabad-Vijayawada, Mumbai-Surat and Mumbai-Nashik.
The main thrust of these charging stations is to provide electric vehicle owners with convenient and fast charging in major cities and long distance journeys. Charging stations will be operational 24/7. Vehicle owners will have the facility to charge their vehicles from ultra-fast EV charging stations themselves. With these chargers, Hyundai’s electric car model, the Ioniq 5, takes just 21 minutes to go from 10% to 80%.
How to charge?
Vehicles can be charged in a very convenient way through the My Hyundai app. You can find out where the charging stations are with the app. Charging slots can be pre-booked and digital payments can be made. The charging status can also be known instantly.
Hyundai plans to expand its ultra-fast charging network to ten new locations by 2024. Also, as per the agreement with the Tamil Nadu government, it aims to set up 100 charging stations by 2027.
