Tata Motors is actively trying to maintain its upper hand in the Indian electric vehicle market. Along with the Punch EV, Tata Motors also introduced its new electric vehicle platform Acti.ev. The company has already announced that this will be the platform for the upcoming Tata EVs. Let’s get to know Tata’s four EVs expected to be released in 2024 and 2025 in detail.
Tata Curve EV
Tata Curve EV is an EV launched by Tata in a coupe design. The arrival of the Curve EV will help popularize this design, which is usually found in premium SUVs. The curve is expected to arrive in April this year. The Curve will have the Nexon EV’s powertrain. Two battery pack options, 30kWh and 40.5kWh. The MR and LR variants of the Nexon are expected to be similar. The range of Nexon EV is 325 km for MR and 465 km for LR.
Tata Harrier EV
Harrier EV will be Tata’s first midsize electric SUV. It is expected to be released by the end of this year. The facelift will also get a similar look to the Harrier with a closed-off grille, new alloy wheels and EV badging. The Harrier EV also comes on the Acti.ev platform. Coming with a dual electric motor setup, the Harrier EV will also have all-wheel drive. Details of the battery have not been released. But expect a 60kWh battery pack and a range of 500-650 km. Tata is also expected to bring Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging features on the Harrier.
Tata Sierra EV
In 1991, Tata introduced their first off-road sport utility vehicle in India. The name is Tata Sierra. Sierra was launched in India from 1991 to 2003. After 34 long years, Tata is all set to bring the EV version of the Sierra to India in 2025. Tata has applied for a patent on the design of the heavily modified Sierra EV. The 3 door design will change to a more practical 5 door design. Powertrain details have not been released.
Tata Altroz EV
Tata Motors also plans to launch an EV version of the premium hatchback Altroz. Although it has not been officially announced that it will be released, it can be expected in 2025. The Altroz EV will have the same powertrain as the Tata Punch EV. Expected range is 500 km. Similar to the Punch EV, it will be priced between Rs 10 to 12.5 lakh.
